The "Secret" to Losing Weight.

Do you want to know how I lost 100 pounds?  Do you want to know how I changed my life?  Do you want to know the best way to lose weight?  The best way to lose weight isn't by following The Paleo Diet, Southbeach, or P90X.  Weight loss isn't achieved by counting carbs or following a  high-protein diet.  It's not even accomplished by counting calories is something I highly support and recommend.

No, it's by choosing the most sustainable and realistic way for YOU to lose weight -- nobody else.

Want to eat one meal a day instead of six smaller portions?  Do it if it works for you.  Like spending 3 hours in the gym?  Whatever, I prefer about 30-45 minutes -- but you do what you want.  Love carbs?  Eat a lot of them, but count your calories.  I'll do the same -- while eating whatever I want in the process.

The best way to lose weight , and keep it off, is to think of weight loss like it'll last for the rest of your life.  You hear the phrase "lifestyle changes?"  That's exactly what you need to make.  If you don't think you can spend 3 hours a day in the gym for the next 10 years, nor do you think you can eat very few carbs for the next 10 years, then you shouldn't consider those methods when trying to lose weight.

Want to know how to lose weight?  Do what I did.  Do something you can stick to for life.

Push-Ups.

Like I said in my last post, my main goal is to become a police officer. One of the steps I need to take to achieve this goal is to take a physical test. This includes push-ups, sit-ups, running, etc. I need to be able to do about 20 LEGIT push-ups. My dad has had me incorporate push-ups into my workout and I can honestly say that I feel that I am getting stronger and seeing more definition in my upper body. I took some video today during my workout. Take a look for yourself.

The first video I am doing "cheat" push-ups. I started out only being able to do 5 of them...struggling. Now I am up to 10 and they are getting easy.

This is me doing 5 LEGIT push-ups. I did another set after I took this video. I could have probably done one more set after that. :)

Summer is Over.

So this past week I began what is hopefully my last year of my Associates Degree. I can't wait to graduate finally. Anyways, this past week I wrote a Thank You letter to my home slice Tyler over at 344pounds. I didn't think he was going to turn it into a post but he did and that was really awesome. I encourage you to click the URL link and check it out. He's an amazing success story and is basically just an amazing person overall.

I know some people have been wondering what I have been up to and why I haven't been blogging. I was working a lot this summer and trying to workout and have a social life. So there basically went blogging out the window. I have gained a little bit of weight this summer. It's not a lot but enough for me to want to get back into the swing of things.

I don't think I am as worried as much about losing weight as I have been in the past. My future career as a police officer means that I have to be strong and somewhat "bigger". So for the past 2 months I have really been focusing on weight lifting and becoming stronger. I need to be able to do about 20 push ups for my physical test. I need to be able to defend myself on the streets as a cop. People want to hurt cops. I don't want to lose the battle of fighting to stay a live. I want to be able to kick ass and take names.

My eating is getting better. I have been more conscious about portions and what I am eating. I downloaded an app for my phone so I can keep track of my water intake. I stole that from Alan. Btw, he is on a roll! Check out his blog, its awesome like him.

So that's me in a nutshell right now. I thank everyone for their continued support, it means a lot to me.

Resting.

For months and months I have been working out 5-6 days a week. I have been working out for 1-2 hrs depending if I need to lift and I think that toll has caught up with my body. Throw in standing and moving on my feet for 7+ hours at work and that equation equals physically and mentally drained Fluffygirl.

I have decided to take sort of a vacation week. I need to give my body a rest from all the pounding I have been doing to it for months and months. I was getting to the point where I no longer enjoyed working out, I felt as though it was a chore. I am thinking of possibly not working out on the weekends or doing not so strenuous activity on the weekends. I need to mix things up because I am kind of getting bored of the same old same old.

Do you work out on the weekends? What are some fun non strenuous activities to burn calories that you do?

I know how you feel, Bro.

New Lifting Regiment and Movie Reviews.

So I have been slacking lately. I don't know if it just because of work or its the summer time but I know my drinking of alcoholic beverages has been on the incline. (drinking a Sconnie beer as I type) Also, I have been mindlessly eating a lot. I have been good with bringing a lunch/dinner to work. That has been a piece of cake. Although I NEED to start drinking more water.

God's nectar

But lately my workout have been ehhhhh. You know, not kick ass but not bad. So I had my dad make me a new lifting work out. I want more muscle definition. I needed to switch it up because I have been doing the same thing for months and I needed to work out new muscles.

Today I tried the new lifting work out and it was good. My legs are jello from lunges, I effing hate them but they do your legs/butt good. My arms are jello as well, but its a good feeling. I needed that kind of a sore to awaken me. I also think that I will only do 30 mins of cardio on lift days instead of my usual hour plus.

But all in all I am doing well. I am working out every day before or after work. And I like that switch in schedule because my night work outs are just me and maybe one or two other people at the Y. I like having the cardio room all to myself.

As I said before, food wise it could be better but it could be worse. I'm just trying to learn how to adapt to the temptations at work. But it's awesome to hear my co-workers tell me "you're so healthy bring a lunch to work". Puts a smile on my face.

Weigh-in day is tomorrow... we shall see.

P.S. Magic Mike is horrible ladies. Wait for it to come out on Red Box...but naked guys are nice. And guys, Ted is hilarious. Perks of the job- seeing movies fo FREE!

Surprised.

Sorry for not posting for a while. I have been busy with work and working out and just plain tired. I have been good about bringing a lunch to work and it is no problem for me. I need to cut down on the refills of diet soda though.

Exercise has been going pretty good. I am starting to bike more and take it easy on running to give my knees a break. I have lifting 2-3 times a week. I can definitively see definition in my arms. 22's son!!

Anyway, I weighed in this morning and to be honest I thought I was going to gain. I went to a surprise party last night for one of my co-workers in downtown Waukesha. There was a lot of Spotted Cow to drink, so I drank. I also had a piece of red velvet cake. I do not regret eating that, it was ahhhmazing. Anyways, I lost .7 pounds. I'll take it. But I know I can do better. I know this is a short post, but I just wanted to keep in touch with my viewers. Have a great day! Enjoy the pics :)

bon fire weather <3

New Job. New Struggles.

So I have been at my new job for 3 days now. If you didn't read my last post, I got a job working at a movie theater as a busser. Its awesome because I am around my best friend sometimes and other people that are pretty cool too. Plus, I am moving a lot by taking drinks and food out to the customers and climbing stairs. I am for sure getting my 10,000 steps in.

I have also started to get up at 7 am and go workout in the mornings. I used to never be able to work out in the mornings. I was crabby and the thought of my body functioning at that level, that early never clicked in my head. But the past couple of days, I have been wide-eyed and kicking ass in the gym. I even got in a late night work out and it was awesome because hardly anyone was at the gym. I love that. Plus, my sleeping has been ahhhmazing!

Right now, the challenge for me is the food that we serve. Pretty much everyone who works there eats the food we make and they get 50% off too. So as of right now, I am the only one who brings a lunch to work. I honestly feel like the odd man out. I've heard comments though like, "Wow, that's probably healthier to bring a lunch." Yeah, I guarantee it is. The food smells and looks amazing. Plus anytime you want something to drink there is a bunch of soda just right there to fill a cup up with. They do also have water, which is great because I can't just walk around with a bottle of water and sip out of it, so I fill up a cup and drink water like that. So, that's basically my thoughts as of right now. I just wanted to let my blogging friends in on what is going on.

Do you bring a bag lunch to work?

Wednesday Was a Win.

Yesterday I weighed-in and lost 3.2 pounds. I currently weight 182.8 pounds. I also am 1 freaking pound away from the 50 pounds loss mark! Hollllllllaaaaaaaaaaaa! I definitively needed that loss because the prior weeks I gained weight. It was not good. I was trying to figure out if it was water weigh or possibly muscle. I think I just have been eating more than I need and not realizing it. So during this past week I really took into account of what and how much I was eating.

In other news I got a job at the local movie theater! Bye bye unemployment, it was nice knowing you. My best friend works there and pretty much I got the hook up because the managers love her. I am ready to make some money again. Plus free movies!

So basically my Wednesday is my off day from the gym. I weighed-in. Did a happy dance that I lost 3 pounds and then went a long with my day. I didn't want to sit inside my house all day and it was sunny outside and in the 70s so I went onto my pool deck and laid out until about 3 pm. I did a mixture of just laying out and listening to music and also read a couple chapters of "Working Out Sucks". I got a great tan too, as always.

After, I started getting ready for my meeting with the manager at the movie theater. I met with him and we basically talked about things other than the movie theater. He actually goes to the same tech college as I do. So that was a plus!

When I was done meeting with him and getting hired ( W00T!!!!) I met up with my two best friends, Heebs and Andi (She got me the hook up with the movie theater) to get our fro-yo on. Wisconsin is new to the whole fro-yo concept because we have custard here and I believe people that never have it before think its the best thing ever. The place we get the Fro-yo from is called Orange Leaf. Its definitely the cool place to hang out if you're in high school.. But it is always packed with business, which is a good thing.

Here is the masterpiece I made. It is peanut butter and chocolate fro-yo with gummie bears and half of a cosmic brownie. It was divine. The peanut butter fro-yo is my favorite so far. I would totally suggest that you try it if you haven't. All in all Wednesday was a win for Fluffy Girl.

I Love Hearing This.

So today in Wisconsin, it is crazy because of the recall against Scott Walker. I went with my mom to go do my civic duty and vote. When we got to the polling place, we ran into one of my friends moms who I haven't seen in a couple years, possible since graduating high school. (Wow, that makes me feel old.) Anyways, my mom and I stopped to chat for about 10 minutes and during that time I got one of the best responses anyone losing weight wants to hear.

"Wow, you look great! How much weight have you lost?" - Friends mom.

I can't tell you how much that lifts my morale and makes me want to keep at this journey. Sure there are plenty of ups and downs along the way, but it is one of the best feelings you can get when someone compliments you on your hard work and progress.

I'll see you tomorrow for weight-in day.

Don Draper in a Weight Loss Blog?

So I know I haven't posted in awhile. I'm sorry.

I wish I had a legit reason to tell you why, but I am becoming a bum. I have gotten into Mad Men and Netflix has been like crack to me for the past week watching the first 2 seasons. I am on season 3 now and I heard that is the best one yet. Plus, you should all be thankful I have not picked up smoking and day drinking Jack Daniels. (You'll get that if you watch the show, if you don't I am sorry) Btw, I love Don Draper and men in suits and skinny ties. And especially when he told Kim Kardashian that she was a "f*cking idiot". Thank you sir, for saying what everyone else is thinking.

I'd be his secretary  ; )

Ok, ok lets get back on track. I have been on the job hunt for awhile and hopefully my unemployed ass gets a call back from this place I applied to soon. I got bills to pay and shoes to buy. I would like to say though, that I ended my semester with a 3.86 GPA. I am pretty proud of myself for that accomplishment. Yes i iz smrt.

So I have gained weight the past two weeks. Don't know why. I feel as though my workouts are really good and my eating is decent. I don't calorie count anymore because I literally went crazy doing that. I'm trying to drink water a lot more. I think my portion sizes are a little out of whack. Plus I am trying not to eat out a lot since it is now summer. I am working at all of those continuously.

The funny thing about this, is yes I am pissed I have gained weight but over Memorial Day weekend I put on my swimsuit for the first time since I went to Australia last November. The results: The top and bottoms of my swim suit were big on me AND I looked damn good in a 2 piece. I know I don't have a picture for you. But one will come soon.

Also, I have noticed that my arms are getting more defined from lifting. I can see biceps and triceps!

I don't want to become too comfortable where I am though, weight wise. Because I am not. I want more. I want to hit my goal weight by the end of summer. I want to see more muscle definition.

The journey has been hard for me. I could have given up a long time ago but I didn't. I refuse to quit. I refuse to  be defined by a number on a scale. I refuse to be 231 pounds ever again.

Weigh-In Wed & Other Shenanigans.

So today I weighed in at 183.8. That is a loss of 1.8 pounds from last week. I dont know why I gained last week. It may have been stressed induced or possibly from not eating as well as I should have. Whatever the case may be I am glad that I am back down into 183 range. I am hoping to get out of the 180s and into the 170s soon.

Honestly, I cannot believe that I am almost into the 170s. That seemed impossible months and months ago. But anything is possible with hard work, dedications and determination.

So now that school is over, I am basically a bum until I find a summer job. I am also trying to put more into my workouts. Hopefully with pushing myself a little more will mean more calories burns and hence more weight lost. I am also patiently waiting for my grades to show up online. I am waiting on 2 more classes which I am pretty sure I did very good in. So we will just have to wait and see.

Other than that, today with food went well. Plus it is my "off" day and I got in some exercise. Nothing too strenuous though.

Breakfast: Coffee, oatmeal, Greek yogurt. NOM!

Snack: Handful of roasted almonds and h20. Yum.

Exercise: My friend Syd, who I haven't seen in many months came over and we hit up the nature trails at a park. We walked around for about an hour walking and talking. It was beautiful outside. I wish I would have taken my phone with my to Instagram the SHIT out of nature.

Lunch: We headed to BW3's or Buffalo Wild Wings and I have chips and salsa and the buffalitos. They were basically grilled chicken tacos with pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and I got to pick my sauce I wanted on them. It was SOOO good!

Snack: I had an apple. Powerade Zero

Dinner: Spaghetti and meatballs with chopped up yellow pepper and spinach leaves. Delicious and I am pretty full.

It wouldn't be a great Wednesday post without some Pictures, so here they are!

This was a card at Target. Awesomeness.

Its Donald Driver Day in WI! He won Dancing with the Stars!

Yeah, they make this.

New Air Max's that I got on sale at the outlet store. <3

Helping a Worthy Cause.

My friend Will has been a huge fan of mine throughout my weight loss. He has been there for support and to congratulate me when I have needed it. He is starting a website where he wants to get successful weight loss stories and put them into one website, so people who are having trouble with their weight can decide what to do or how to start losing weight, they can look at the stories of others for motivation. He also wants to really be an advocate for weight loss because of how extreme the obesity crisis is getting. As well as I and many others.

The website is called TransformationPics and it needs more motivational weight loss stories. So, I know all of you out there want more people to view your blogs, just like I do. This is basically free advertising of your site. I think it is also cool, how each of us has our own unique story. No one is exactly the same, no one lost weight exactly the same, but everyone made it work for their lifestyle and that's what matters! That is how I think I started succeeding in my weight loss, I looked at other things other bloggers were doing and incorporated some of those things into my weight loss.

So do me a favor and click on the link and check out the website. It basically in its baby stage right now. I would love to get more people's stories on this site. I know when I first was trying to lose weight, I had no idea what to do or how to start. The first thing I did was go onto Google and typed in weight loss blogs/stories. Once again, shout out to the man Tyler for his blog and basically showing me it is possible for anyone to lose weight. At any size, if you are determined to lose weight, you will.

If you end up sharing your story, please do not hesitate to just stop there. Blog about it on your website and keep the stories coming! We need to motivate the people who think it is not possible. We need to change the statistics of the future of obesity.

Done.

I just got done taking my last final of the semester. It is the biggest weight of my shoulder now. I am currently blasting all genres of music in my house or if your a creep, just look at my Spotify on my Facebook account. I feel bad for my little brother who is trying to watch the finale of Community.

It has been a long, drawn out semester. It was totally worth it because I had awesome profs and I really learned a lot in each class. There were times when I thought I was going to die of boredom in some classes or just not make it through another lecture. But I came, I saw and I conquered the SHIT out of each of my finals... At least that's what I think. I hoping for above a 3.5 GPA this semester. So we shall see in a week or two when grades are up.

Thank you for understanding for my lack of posting this past week but school is a higher priority.

The storm is over, now bring on sweet summer time baby!

Review: I Ate a Pint of Ice Cream

So, I have been busy with school lately since it is coming to an end. Thank you baby Jesus. I really enjoy my classes and my teachers but it is time to be done. I currently have to write a paper, look up information on prostitution and physician-assisted suicide ( how fun! ) and start a take home exam. Easy peasy right? Oh, did I mention my computer crashed and died on me and I had a power point on it that I needed to do a presentation for... yeah gotta love this time of the year. So, I need to find a new computer. Any suggestions computer n3rds?

Ok anyways, getting back on track. I was writing my paper for criminal law and I had the urge for some ice cream. I went to Good Harvest foods a couple of days ago, which by the way, I am their newest member. Holla!

I bought a pint of Arctic Zero ice cream. This stuff is awesome. And let me enlighten you on why you should drop everything you are doing and go and buy this stuff.

I bought Vanilla Maple this time but last time I bought Cookies and Cream. Doesn't matter, they were both amazing. So as you can tell from this first picture there is 14 grams of whey protein in this! For those of you who don't know, whey helps build muscles. It is also FAT FREE, lactose intolerant friendly ( I feel bad for you people) and gluten free.

It also has 8 grams of fiber...we all know what fiber does. No need for me to explain. It's Made with organic cane sugar and has chicory root to boost calcium absorption. Yay for strong bones!

But seriously guys and gals, if you love ice cream try this out. You can eat this whole pint for 150 calories! you cannot do that with Ben and Jerry's or Haagen-Daz. I ate this whole pint tonight and I don't regret it one bit. I honestly wish I had another. If you want more information on them go to My Arctic Zero. You can find out if they sell this stuff by you and they have 85 calorie bars you can try.
