FMM: Childhood Flashbacks

Childhood Flashbacks
1. Did you have a set bedtime as a child?  If so, what was it? Yes, technically we were supposed to be in bed by 8 or 9. As we got older, that went away.. But in middle school, I would go to bed at 9 for some reason. Don't know why.
2. Were you taught to be a member of the “Clean Plate Club?” Did it have affect your eating habits as an adult?  Yes, definitely a clean plate club member  And, yes it did affect my eating habits. I felt if I didn't eat all the food, I was wasting it.
3. Share one thing that you were not allowed to do as a child. Sleepovers. Yes, my mom would never let me do sleepovers. I don't know why but I still get made fun of for it. But yes, I have graduated on to doing many sleepovers.
4. What is the cheapest gas price you can remember?  Pretty sure somewhere in the $2.00 range. If only we could go back to that, I'd have a full tank of gas always.
5. What was your favorite thing on the playground?  I was never really a fan of playground stuff. Since always being the big kid, I preferred to play kick-ball, foursquare and stuff I didn't have to climb on.
6. Share one thing that your parents always made you do that you didn't like doing.  Going to Sunday school. My mom made us go to a different church where I never new anyone. I hated it. I am so glad I am done with that stuff.
7. Do you remember your first kiss?  If so, share the details!  I didn't have my first kiss til out of high school.
8. Did you prefer to play inside or outside?  Well, depending on the weather - outside. I come from  a big family, I have 4 other siblings. We were the house to come to in our neighborhood to play basketball and night games. It was a blast!
9. What was your favorite TV show growing up?  Too many. Saved by the bell, Hey Arnold  Doug, Global Guts, The Rug-rats, All That, basically anything on Nickelodeon/Nick @ Nite. I miss those shows.
10. Share one awesome childhood memory. The first time my family went on a vacation, we went to Florida to visit my Grandma. It was the first time flying for all of us. It was awesome and where my love for some day living near a beach came from.
Bonus: Share a picture of yourself as a child.

Weigh-In

I weighed in this morning at 189.8. Which is a gain of .8 pounds. I'm not really upset or anything. I knew I was going to gain, considering what my last week entailed. I went to Chicago and I went out for St. Patty's day. So, a gain of .8 really is nothing to me.

I am going to Des Moines, Iowa this weekend to visit my sister and cousin. It's my first time down there, I'll be representing Sconnie Nation of course. Spring break is coming to a close for me and then its back at it, with hopefully a loss on the scale next week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

FMM: Pondering Personal Thoughts

Pondering Personal Thoughts
1. How old would you feel if you didn’t know how old you are? I feel like I am still a kid at times, because I don't have a legit job yet. I am starting to feel old because of being in school so long. But I graduate in May and I am sooo excited!
2. Are you the kind of friend you’d want to have as a friend?  Absolutely!
3. Look back at the last year.  When did you feel most excited about something in your life?  I was excited about school and the career path I have chosen.
4. Have you ever been with someone and not spoken a word, only to walk away thinking that was the best conversation ever?  Sometimes at work, we do facial expressions instead of talking. It's pretty funny.
5. If you won 100 million dollars Monday, would you continue doing whatever you usually do on Tuesdays?  Yes, I would still go to school and workout. I would need it to keep me busy , otherwise i'd go insane I think. Plus, all that online browsing of clothes and shoes and whatever else wont be put to waste.
6. What would you do differently if you knew no one would judge you? Cut my hair super sort and try to be a comedian/actress.
7. Share something you do differently than most people. I write my 7's with a line through the middle.
8. What’s one thing that you really want to do that you’ve never done? Go on a hot air balloon ride.
9. If you had to move out of state right now, where would you move? Somewhere warm and by a beach.
10.  What is the one thing that you’d like to change most about the world?  MANNERS!

Now it’s your turn to answer this week’s questions!  Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments!  Have a happy Monday, friends!

Weigh-In and Chi-Town

Hey guys! Sorry I didn't post on Thursday, I was in Chicago all day. More to come on that soon. But yes, I did weigh-in and I lost .8 lbs. I wasn't expecting that huge of a loss this second week but still proud of losing something.

But yes, Thursday I played hooky from school and went to Chicago with my best friend, Andi. ( Don't tell my teacher) She is on spring break and since I have only one class on thursday, I started my break early. I have never been to Chicago to walk around and sight see. Andi on the other hand has been there numerous times and was my personal tour guide of Chicago for the day.

The drive down to Chicago took about 2 hours from where we live and actually traffic was not as bad as we thought. We got there a little bit before noon and started the day walking through Millennium Park.

Millennium Park and The Great Lawn

The weather in the Windy City was windy and a bit chilly most of the day but the sun peeked its head out a couple of times to say hi. We then headed over to The Bean, which is a really cool, simple piece of artwork.

The Bean

Another angle
The Bean is basically a Hipster trap. I took a lot of pics and if you follow me on instagram, you probably saw me go crazy with it. Yeah, I'm that person. I apologize.

Typical tourists...

So after we took a million different pics, we walked to the Shedd Aquarium. That was a good 2 mile walk.

Shedd Aquarium
Their feature exhibit at the aquarium was Jellies. We walked around and saw tons of cool animals. I haven't been this engaged in learning since elementary school.

There are 2 frogs in here. If you can find both, you're awesome at I Spy.

My fav fish

Andi named this Ke$ha fish

JELLIES!

My fav jelly

Btw, did I mention I saw Sgt. Nicholas Brody at the Shedd Aquarium!? (If you know who I am talking about, major brownie points)
Yes, I creeped on this man

After all that learning, we were hungry. He hit up a cab and went to Corner Bakery Cafe. This was Andi's second fav place to eat.

My lunch
After lunch we were ready to shop til we drop. We hit up Forever 21 and went CRAY. Andi got a ton of cute new clothes. I also got some super cute stuff as well. I even got a dress! That is not like me to get a dress. I hate dresses. I'll give ya a taste of it..

Sup.

So, there you have it. I am becoming more and more of a girly girl, thanks to Andi. And she loves every minute of it.

After shopping and spending all of the money we are suppose to be saving, we headed to some other places. We walked probably another 2-3 miles. I was enjoying the architecture and the many different kinds of people that make up this world. (aka people watching)

Overall, Thursday was a great day. I got to spend quality time with my best friend and I got to take an adventure to Chicago and see some really cool things.

Do you like to travel? If so, where is your favorite place to go or where do you want to go?

Weigh-In Day!

Stepped on the scale this am and I had mixed thoughts. I thought I didn't eat enough..I thought I didn't work out enough...I knew I drank a shit ton of water though. I stepped on the scale and it blinked and blinked and then BOOM! 189.2. HELL YEAH!

I really stepped my game up this week ladies and gents. I met up with my former roommate from college who actually has lost over 100 pounds. Her and I have the same goal in mind. We both want to get to about 170 lbs. I was helping her learn how to lift. She's helped me with understanding food and calories more, which I think has been my biggest problem.

I also have this sweet new app called Calorie Counter. I LOVE it. Check it out if your in the market for a free awesome app.

Well, I just wanted to post quickly. I have to go take a math test now. So, pray that I do well with that.

Thanks for stopping by and the continued support. You guys rock!
