You can yell at me all you want. You should yell at me- I haven't blogged in well over a month. The reason- just plain lazy. I haven't been the same in the past months. I haven't felt like I need to work out or I need to eat better. But I still eat well and when I feel full I stop eating. A big thing I have started to notice is that I have been doing some binge eating. I eat something, that I usually don't eat like cookies or chips and I just can't stop eating them. I don't know what happend to my self control, but it is not as strong as it used to be.
I have a new workout routine now. I used to do a circuit workout 3 times a week and then some type of cardio the other days. I'm over the circuit because I did it for a year straight and I want to do something new. So I am now doing a weight lifting routine 3 times a week and cardio the other 2-3. I really, really enjoy weight lifting. I used to power lift in HS and I enjoyed that also. I have been slacking on my cardio. I know that's where most of my calories burned comes from too. I just cannot get myself to run for more than 20-30 minutes on a treadmill. I like using the ellipticals, most of the time which I do interval hill workouts on. The weather here in Wisconsin is starting to warm up a bit and I cannot wait til we get in the 50's. I like running outside more than running on a treadmill.
I don't know what but I haven't lost any weight. I'm still hoovering in the 198 region. I understand that I am doing less cardio but still I was hoping to lose a pound hear or there. I think it is coming down what I put in my mouth and the portion sizes. Does anyone have any advice? Has this happened to you before?
You can do it Molly! i believe in you! Just keep pushing yourself to workout and eat healthier. I've definitely been through a few plateau's myself and I've found if I've increased the intensity of the exercise I would get through it within a week. Just keep reminding yourself of the reasons you want to lose weight and why it is so important for you to do so.

David- Thank you for the support. Awesome words of wisdom.
ReplyDeleteHey! Just thought i'd share soemthing that i *read* (can't remember where, it wasn't a blog or anything but an article soomewhere...)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, i saw somewhere that weight loss is 80% down to diet and only 20% down to exercise.
Heres an article that explores the issue a little further: http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,1914857,00.html
For me, i exercise because it's now part of my routine and makes me feel amazing, strong and helps me maintain my muscle tissue. Any additional benefits are great, but exercise had helped me to shape my body to the point where i am confident for the first time. Learn to love it and you literally cannot go wrong.
I hope you get back in the swing soon, i've been there, where you literally CANNOT find the willpower to do anything for your health. Don't worry, it will take one step and then you'll get it all back! Its the first first step that is tricky, but just see it as wasting time and just do it.
That helps me anyway! ;))
